Born in the Western part of Germany near Cologne, at home in Hamburg and on the Spanish island of Mallorca. For three decades I have been writing travel stories for major German language media such as Welt am Sonntag, FAZ, Die Zeit, Spiegel Online, Der Passagier. So far six books for German and Austrian publishers like Piper/Malik and Picus as well as a twelve-part city travel book series (with Sönke Krüger) for the renowned publishing house teNeues.
My areas of reporting are Mallorca and the rest of Europe, Asia, North America, hotels, cruise ships - and royalty. In 2018, the German language weekly Mallorca-Zeitung awarded me for the best travel story of the year, it was published in the sunday paper Welt am Sonntag.
Member of a number of award juries such as dpa infographics award and Columbus Prize of the Association of German Travel Journalists.
